How to book your free Rawdah permit in the Nusuk app, the official visiting times for men and women, and the 365-day rule, from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Quick answer: To pray in Riaz ul Jannah (Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah) you need a free permit booked in the Nusuk app or website. Log in, choose the Rawdah permit service, pick a date and time slot and issue the permit. Men and women have separate times, and a new permit can be issued 365 days after your last one. Book as soon as your Madinah dates are confirmed.
Riaz ul Jannah, also written Riyad ul Jannah and called Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah, is the area inside Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah between the Prophet's ﷺ house, where his blessed grave is, and his minbar. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Between my house and my pulpit there is a garden of the gardens of Paradise" (Sahih al-Bukhari 1196). Pilgrims from Pakistan try to pray there at least once during their stay in Madinah.
Visits are organised by time slots. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah runs the Rawdah permit e-service for citizens, residents, visitors and GCC citizens, through the Nusuk app and website.
These are the steps listed on the Ministry's e-service page, checked on 26 October 2026.
Install the official Nusuk app or open nusuk.sa. The Rawdah permit is a Ministry of Hajj and Umrah e-service offered through the Nusuk app and website.
Log in or create your own Nusuk account. Saudi citizens and residents sign in with Nafath; visitors on an Umrah visa register with their passport number, visa number, date of birth, nationality, mobile number and email.
Select the service named Issuance of Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifa Permit (Men / Women).
Choose the date and one of the available time slots. Men and women have separate visiting periods, and the slots are shown in Saudi time.
Issue the permit, then check the date, time and name on it. Keep it on your phone and verify your booking details before you go to Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah.
Tip: Book in your own Nusuk account, using your own details. If a family member is not comfortable with the app, help them book in their own account.
On 20 October 2026 the Saudi Press Agency published the visiting periods below. Visitors must book through Nusuk and verify their booking details before going to Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah.
| Day | Men | Women |
|---|---|---|
| Saturday to Thursday | 2:00 a.m. until Fajr prayer, and 11:20 a.m. until Isha prayer | After Fajr prayer until 11:00 a.m., and after Isha prayer until 2:00 a.m. |
| Friday | 2:00 a.m. until Fajr prayer, and 9:00 a.m. until Isha prayer | After Fajr prayer until 9:00 a.m., and after Isha prayer until 2:00 a.m. |
The times are in Saudi time, which is 2 hours behind Pakistan time. Prayer times change through the year, so the exact start and end of each period moves with Fajr and Isha. Your permit shows the slot you booked.
In October 2026 the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said on its official X account that a new Rawdah permit can be issued 365 days after the previous one, subject to eligibility and available dates in Nusuk (report). So if you visited the Rawdah within the last year, Nusuk may not let you book again yet.
The ministry also reminded visitors near the Prophet's Mosque that they can use the Immediate Track service in the app, which books a visit according to eligibility and available times. It is useful if no slot was free before you reached Madinah.
Women have their own visiting periods, shown in the table above. Under current Saudi rules, women can perform Umrah without a mahram. For your specific case, ask us on WhatsApp at 0330-3786333. Our women's Umrah guide covers clothing and packing.
