As of 25 October 2026, Saudi Arabia requires every Umrah pilgrim from Pakistan to have the meningitis ACYW vaccine (at least 10 days before arrival) and a polio dose. Pakistan is adding a NADRA-linked vaccination certificate check for Umrah flights: Peshawar from 25 October 2026 and Karachi from 20 November 2026. Our customers report that Islamabad airport is also checking Umrah vaccination certificates, so get yours before you travel. Lahore has no date announced yet.
Airport deadlines: Peshawar: NADRA vaccination certificate required from 25 Oct 2026, 10:00. Karachi: pre-departure verification from 20 Nov 2026, 10:00. Islamabad: our customers report the airport is also checking certificates. Lahore: no date announced (as of 25 October 2026).

Three things decide whether you board your Umrah flight from Pakistan: what Saudi Arabia requires, what Pakistan's airports now check, and whether your doses are on a NADRA certificate. This page puts all three in one place, with dates and sources. We checked every rule on 25 October 2026 and will update the page when the dates change.
This is travel-requirement information, not medical advice. Do not skip or take a vaccine on the strength of this page. If you are pregnant, unwell or unsure, ask your doctor or the vaccination centre.
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health publishes the health rules for Umrah each year. Two vaccines are required for pilgrims from Pakistan: meningitis ACYW for everyone, and polio because Pakistan is on Saudi Arabia's polio list.
| Vaccine | Required by | Who | Timing / validity | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Meningitis ACYW | Saudi MoH — required | All Umrah pilgrims | Conjugate (or ACYWX): within 5 years. Polysaccharide: within 3 years. At least 10 days before arrival. Type not shown on the certificate: valid 3 years only. | Saudi MoH 1447H |
| Polio | Saudi MoH — required | Everyone arriving from Pakistan, any age, whatever their past vaccinations | At least one dose of bOPV or IPV. Recommended: IPV within 12 months or OPV within 6 months, at least 4 weeks before arrival. | Saudi MoH 1447H |
| Seasonal influenza | Saudi MoH — advised; checked at Karachi | All travellers (advised) | Updated 2025–2026 seasonal vaccine advised before travel (the Saudi document words this advice for Hajj travellers). Part of the Karachi pre-departure check. | Saudi MoH; trips.pk |
| COVID-19 proof | Saudi MoH — required for some | Over-65s, pregnant women and people with listed chronic illnesses | One updated 2025–2026 dose, or a completed primary series (2021–2024), or lab-confirmed recovery in 2025. | Saudi MoH 1447H |
| Yellow fever | Saudi MoH — listed countries only | Not needed from Pakistan, unless you arrive from or transit a listed country | Certificate valid for life from 10 days after vaccination. | Saudi MoH 1447H |
Saudi Arabia also recommends being up to date with routine vaccines (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis, polio, measles, chickenpox and mumps). This page follows the Saudi Ministry of Health's 1447H (2026) Umrah document, and we re-check it for a newer version before every update.
On top of the Saudi rules, Pakistan's Border Health Services (under the Ministry of National Health Services) is introducing a check before you fly. Since 15 September 2026, it accepts only a NADRA-integrated digital certificate generated against your CNIC; a vaccination card from a clinic, a hospital slip or a photocopy is not accepted, according to reports. Airports are switching the check on one by one:
| Airport | Status | Date | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Karachi (Jinnah International) | Grace period extended by a Border Health Services circular dated 21 Oct 2026. After the deadline, passengers without the certificate will not be allowed to travel (reported). | From 10:00, 20 Nov 2026 | trips.pk, 21 Oct; searchable.pk, 22 Oct |
| Peshawar (Bacha Khan International) | Certificate required to travel; deadline moved from 15 Oct. | From 10:00, 25 Oct 2026 | searchable.pk, 16 Oct |
| Lahore (Allama Iqbal International) | No date announced | — | searchable.pk |
| Islamabad (Islamabad International) | Our customers report that Islamabad airport is also checking Umrah vaccination certificates. | — | Diyanat Travels customer reports, 25 Oct 2026 |
Islamabad: Our customers report that Islamabad airport is also checking Umrah vaccination certificates, so get yours before you travel.
Our advice: get every dose recorded on NIMS wherever you fly from, so a rule change after you book can't stop you at the airport.
These are the fees Border Health Services gave for the Karachi airport centre. Fees at other centres may differ, so check before you pay.
Karachi update, 25 October 2026: the Express Tribune reported that routine meningitis and influenza vaccination for Umrah passengers at Karachi airport has been suspended and the airport's emergency vaccination counter removed. About 4,000 remaining doses are reserved for passengers who already paid through the Pak ID app (Express Tribune, 25 Oct 2026). Before you go to the airport centre, check that it is vaccinating, or ask us on WhatsApp.
| Item | Reported fee | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Meningitis vaccine | Rs 2,785 | Express Tribune, 11 Oct 2026 |
| Influenza vaccine | Rs 1,720 | Express Tribune, 11 Oct 2026 |
| Polio vaccine | Free | Express Tribune, 11 Oct 2026 |
| NIMS digital certificate | Shown on the NIMS payment page (card or e-Sahulat) | NADRA NIMS |
The International Traveller Vaccination Centre, run by Border Health Services, operates round the clock at the Civil Dispensary near the airport's Star Gate at Jinnah Terminal. Five NADRA facilitation counters were set up at the airport dispensary (Express Tribune, 11 Oct 2026). On 25 October 2026 routine vaccination there was reported suspended, with the remaining doses kept for passengers who had paid through Pak ID (Express Tribune), so check before you go.
A dedicated vaccination centre was set up at the Civil Surgeon's Office in Peshawar, with 20 counters for men and women, and two NADRA facilitation centres were being added (Bloom Pakistan, 23 Sep 2026). A mid-October report gives the Federal Government Medical Centre on Shami Road as the place to get vaccinated in Peshawar (searchable.pk, 16 Oct 2026), so confirm the centre before you go.
We have not yet confirmed a current official centre for these cities, so we are not listing one. Ask Border Health Services at the airport health office, or message us and we will tell you what we know before you book.

Saudi Arabia requires the meningitis ACYW vaccine for every Umrah pilgrim and at least one polio dose for everyone travelling from Pakistan, whatever their age. Over-65s, pregnant women and people with listed chronic illnesses also need COVID-19 proof. The flu vaccine is advised by Saudi Arabia and is part of Pakistan's airport check at Karachi.
Yes. The Saudi Ministry of Health's 1447H (2026) Umrah rules say all pilgrims from all countries must have a quadrivalent ACYW meningitis vaccine: a conjugate dose within the last 5 years or a polysaccharide dose within the last 3 years, given at least 10 days before arrival in Saudi Arabia.
Yes, if you fly from an airport that checks it. Border Health Services requires a NADRA-integrated digital certificate, and reports say clinic cards and hospital slips are not accepted. Peshawar starts checking from 10:00 on 25 October 2026 and Karachi from 10:00 on 20 November 2026. Get your record on NIMS wherever you fly from.
Pay the vaccination fee through NADRA's Pak ID app or an e-Sahulat franchise, get vaccinated at a designated centre with your CNIC and passport, and make sure each dose is entered in NIMS. Then download the certificate from nims.nadra.gov.pk, paying its fee by debit or credit card or at e-Sahulat.
At the Karachi airport vaccination centre, Border Health Services quoted Rs 2,785 for the meningitis vaccine and Rs 1,720 for the influenza vaccine, with polio free of charge (Express Tribune, 11 October 2026). Fees at other centres may differ, and the NIMS certificate has its own fee, shown when you pay.
As of 25 October 2026: Peshawar (Bacha Khan International) from 10:00 on 25 October 2026, and Karachi (Jinnah International) from 10:00 on 20 November 2026 under a 21 October circular. Lahore (Allama Iqbal) has no date announced. Our customers report that Islamabad airport is also checking Umrah vaccination certificates, so get yours before you travel. We update this page when the dates change.
The meningitis dose must be at least 10 days old when you arrive in Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia recommends the polio dose at least 4 weeks before arrival. A Border Health Services official advised getting vaccinated at least 10 days before departure. Planning 4 to 6 weeks before your flight leaves time for the certificate.
Yes. Saudi Arabia requires polio for every traveller from Pakistan regardless of age, and its meningitis rule applies to all pilgrims. Border Health Services reported giving meningitis from age 12 and flu from age 1 at Karachi, so confirm your child's case at the vaccination centre and ask your paediatrician.
Under the Karachi airport arrangements reported in October 2026, pregnant women are given only the influenza vaccine, and Saudi Arabia requires pregnant pilgrims to show COVID-19 proof. Breastfeeding mothers may receive flu, polio and meningitis. This is not medical advice: speak to your doctor and the vaccination centre before you travel.
Saudi rules accept an ACYW conjugate (or ACYWX) dose for 5 years and a polysaccharide dose for 3 years, both counted from at least 10 days before arrival. If the certificate does not show the vaccine type, Saudi Arabia treats it as valid for 3 years only.
